Why should I consider a career as a Doctor of Chiropractic?
People across all age groups are increasingly more interested in integrative and less-invasive
health care as a way of improving overall well-being and performance, as well as treating
acute and chronic pain conditions.
Becoming a DC is incredibly satisfying work with a distinctive purpose of helping
people recover from injury, reduce their pain, and live healthier lives. Chiropractors
report a high level of patient satisfaction, an incredibly attractive work life and
lifestyle balance, and a high level of job satisfaction, due in large part to the
joy of knowing you are helping others get well naturally. Many chiropractors work
in solo or small group practices, own their own clinic, or partner in a larger facility.
Although salary averages range across the country, in part due to business ownership,
top earners enjoy a six-figure income and a low stress, autonomous environment.
Why should I choose Campbellsville University?
Campbellsville University is the only School of Chiropractic that offers students:
- Unmatched affordability, with 20% lower tuition than most other programs and a low
cost of living in Central Kentucky;
- An innovative curriculum that prepares students to become successful doctors and business
leaders;
- The flexibility to do their community-based clerkship almost anywhere in the country;
- Cutting-edge technology in a new, dedicated educational facility; and
- Core values that foster health and well-being from a distinctly Christian perspective.
Can I have a full-time job while or do night classes while attending Chiropractic
school?
Professional school is generally more time consuming as compared to undergraduate
programs. There are no night classes available and little flexibility in your class
schedule. Most semesters have anywhere between 25-30 hours per week of class time.
The amount of time, as well as the intensity of study, would make it difficult to
have a traditional full-time job.
When are application deadlines?
With two start dates during the year, applications are accepted at any time with specific
deadlines for each start date. The two start dates each year allow students flexibility
regarding finishing undergraduate studies and any logistics with respect to moving,
without a lengthy wait to begin the program.
The deadline for the spring semester is December 15 and the fall semester deadline
is July 15. However, if you are waiting for official transcripts to be transferred
to the enrollment office and have your application submitted, by the deadline, a grace
period is permitted.
What if my cumulative undergraduate GPA is below 3.0?
Campbellsville University offers multiple pathways for admissions to our DC program. If you have completed at least 90 semester hours and have a cumulative
GPA above a 2.75, you may apply for the DC program. Admission will be contingent upon
review of course work and an interview. Students will complete their baccalaureate
degree prior to graduation from the DC program.
What if I do not have 90 credit hours?
Students can be admitted to our pre-Chiropractic program to complete the necessary
90 credits. If you enter the Chiropractic program without a fully completed degree,
the 90 credits plus your first year Chiropractic education can be used to earn a baccalaureate
degree (Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts & Sciences concentration in Life Science
[BS LAS LS]). This allows you to graduate from the Chiropractic program with a bachelor's
degree as well as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree.
Do I need to submit GRE scores?

What is the future of chiropractic practice?
Chiropractic care is increasingly regarded as an effective treatment for neuromusculoskeletal
conditions because of its effective nonsurgical and nonpharmacological methods. Avoiding
drugs and surgery has become the first and best option for many patients and an affordable
and effective method for pain relief, injury recovery, and maintaining healthy joint
movement.
Most professional sports leagues and teams employ chiropractors to help ensure their
athletes maintain ideal strength, optimize performance, and reduce the chance of injury.
